Membership of the FMB is for sole traders and small and medium-sized construction companies based in the UK that have been trading for at least 12 months.

Unlike other organisations, the FMB’s badge of quality must be earned as you must first pass a strict vetting process and independent inspection of your work. This helps reassure clients of your commitment to quality and high standards.

We're also a not for profit organisation, which means membership fees are reinvested into supporting you.

FMB membership costs £53.51 (+VAT) a month. For the first year only an inspection fee of £10.92 per month (+VAT) will also be applied to cover the cost of your initial inspection. Where payments are made on an annual basis, a one-off inspection fee of £131.04 (+VAT) will be applied when the first membership payment is made.

Because of our commitment to quality and the need to undertake an inspection of your work, the join process can take between two to three weeks (subject to receiving the required application documentation from you).

You will also receive a welcome pack in the post with free FMB van stickers and the latest copy of Master Builder Magazine.

If you pay your subscription monthly, that's not a problem! There is no annual contract so if you find that membership is not for you then you can contact the team on 0330 333 7777(Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm). We are not able to offer pro-rata refunds on annual subscriptions if you decide to leave within twelve months of joining.
